Where it all began...
In 2006, one week before I was to go off to college I incurred my MeToo Story. It took me years of pursuing healing to be able to talk about it, and even longer to find my path to healing. In the midst of the #MeToo movment, it became very clear to me that I needed to publicly share my story so that we may begin to heal our stories.
What we reveal we can heal
It is amazing to me to witness the change in public attitude towards people with MeToo stories of late. People who haven't experienced it can't understand the coping mechanisms of the people who have because they aren't logical. There may be an attempt to rationalize how they should have acted immediately after, or how they should have prevented it. But none of this is helpful because the entire process isn't logical, rational or linear or anything like that.
I imagine it is similar to being a veteran. (Please don't mistake for my comparison as a lack of respect for military. My husband is a veteran and I have the utmost respect for anyone with military-related trauma.) I think this because you just can't explain it to someone, it changes you and the way you interact with every aspect of life - even in ways you may not be consciously aware of, and there is a dark bond with others who have experienced it.
This is how I felt before I saw it as an opportunity to connect with other people who have felt like I did in my darkest place. When the movement started, I knew I had to share my story. And I did to a room of about 30-40 people in one of my coaching certifications. It was terrifying. Most of my family didn't even know at this point.
But what I learned was that when I shared my story, I gave permission to the other people who had those experiences to speak up.
Throughout the day, five other people in the class approached me and told me about their experience and the confusion, psychological after-effects, and other effects their experience gave them.
another magical thing happened after I shared:
At the end of the class where I bore my soul, we had a sort of graduation. There was music and singing, and laughing, and everyone started dancing. And it struck me how beautiful it was that humans had this immense capacity for such beauty, compassionate, and loving behavior. They accepted me and my story. And then they grabbed me and took me in a ridiculous conga line and made me laugh and cry. I was completely overcome with the ability of humans to be so amazing which was in stark contrast to the story I had been holding onto for so long - how I couldn't understand how some humans were capable of doing certain things to other humans (following my event). The graduation ended, I grabbed my luggage and went to the airport to fly home. On the plane I absorbed everything that had happened in that weekend with the defining moment of exposing myself for having a story, and I felt a wholeness set in that had been missing for twelve years.
I knew that my next steps were to put myself on a platform to help others move forward with and transform their stories. So here I am.
More about Amber
I am a Colorado native blessed with an amazing husband and two loving dogs, Cue and Jude.
I studied under and was certified by two of the founders of Strategic Intervention, Mark and Magali Peysha. I am constantly updating certifications to be of the most value to clients - which is easy because this is my obsession. I am currently pursuing my next certification in High Performance Coaching with Brendon Burchard.
My clients are incredible people who need a little help with communication with their loved ones and themselves. All they need is to be shown the way. I love it when I get a new client and I get to hear all about them, where they are from, what they are about and what they want. The real magic moment, however, is when I get a couple who fights about everything that finally starts to understand each other and they soften into compassion again.
They are all truly unique in their stories and the different objectives they want to accomplish. This keeps things fresh and challenging for me. I love it when they report back to me with new changes in their lives or insights resulting from our work together.
All of us have a block at some point in one area of life. It is amazing to me when opportunity opens up in one life category and the others follow suit. I believe that anyone can live an excellent and fulfilled life. It is my mission to help anyone find it that has the courage to ask for it.

About Strategic Intervention Coaching
What is Strategic Intervention Coaching?
Strategic Intervention Coaching is a dynamic type of life coaching which is used worldwide to help individuals, families, couples, and organizations to support the individual and group. Strategic Intervention Coaching brings a system of change that empowers the client to take action daily in their life. It is through real actions, taught as SI Strategies by their coach, that a client creates the real and lasting change they desire. Strategic Intervention believes that all people have the potential to overcome the negative patterns and beliefs which keep them from thriving and reaching their goals.
How is SI Coaching different from other types of Life Coaching?
A Certified Strategic Intervention Coach has gone through intensive study and training in strategies to handle the whole range of human needs and life challenges. Most life coaching trainings focus on one type of result such as: goals, beliefs, or steps while SI helps address the wide range of human potential and obstacles. Strategic Interventionists are trained to identify every type of obstacle that may be holding a client back (such as their internal beliefs, their communication patterns, their relationships, their life stages) and prescribe practical strategies to create results in each of these areas. SI Coaches provide practical frameworks for the client to understand their options, and then offers them strategies and actions for bringing about the changes they want. Where some traditional life coaching methods focus on “the client discovering their own solutions,” Strategic Intervention Coaches help clients take practical action to transform their experience of life. SI encompasses goal setting, communication skill building, relationship work, high performance, meaning/purpose discovery, and uses creative modalities to help clients put their dreams into action. The SI Client learns about his or her needs, triggers, key relationships, safe problems, and expands their ability to think creatively, see potential in every part of life, expand and deepen all their relationships, and overcome the fears which have limited their joy and progress.
What can you expect to improve in your life as you work with your Certified SI Coach?
You can expect to gain clarity, action, and progress towards the goals you want to achieve. You will learn about yourself and how to be more effective with the key people in your life. Insights often include: how to rebuild a difficult relationship, how become more inspired about your career, how to plan for effective action. Most clients discover areas of opportunity, freeing up energy and initiative, and more insight and harmony with those they care about.
How is SI Coaching different than therapy?
Psychotherapy and counseling generally work within a medical framework: identifying and diagnosing dysfunctions and prescribing treatment. SI Coaching starts with you, now, and how to take practical steps to make progress towards the goals, relationships, and experience you want. Strategic Intervention begins with the belief that the solutions that the client wants are available to them right now, and greater well-being and happiness comes from the ability to take smart actions in life. SI Coaching is not meant to replace psychotherapy - it is a distinct practical approach to supporting clients in the decisions and actions that will support their goals and fulfillment in life.
